Welcome...Today’s the Day

It’s Sunday November 19th, and tonight at 10 PM my husband and I will be heading to the hospital to begin the induction process to bring our baby girl into the world. I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a blog about life, adventures of motherhood, and NYC living and thought, “there is no time like hours before giving birth to start.” I mean, what else do you do as you sit around counting down the hours, minutes and seconds until the moment you have been waiting for for over 9 months (10 months really). I’ve cleaned the grout in the bathroom, windexed the mirrors, vacuumed every corner and waited...I bet if this baby arrived and did something more than poop, cry, eat and sleep, she would say “My parents have a very clean apartment.”

Anyways, it seems fitting that I introduce  myself to you and you to this blog on this very day. A day filled with excitement, anticipation, anxiety and pure joy. Will my daughter be a healthy and happy baby? Will I be a good mom? Will instinct kick in and will we figure it out? Or will we be completely clueless and worry we aren’t good parents? How do we raise her to be kind and confident? Will my husband be proud of the mother I am, and will he know that he is still just as, if not even more important to me, now that we have this sweet baby girl? These are the questions that have cluttered my mind as I lay awake at night and in the early morning, unable to sleep. In these days leading up to our daughter’s arrival, I have found comfort and knowledge in a lot of the content I have found on the internet - from medical websites to other blogs and articles. So now it’s my turn.

I hope this blog will be a place where I can share stories, pictures, recipes, reviews, mommy successes and mommy fails (I am sure there will be many). I look forward to the adventures ahead and look forward to sharing them with you. I sure hope that you’ll follow along.
